The Adventures of Sawyer: Baptismal Blessing

We chose January 15th, 2012 as Sawyer's Baptism day because of the special day it was already...it would have been Grandpa Ken's 84th Birthday. Ken was Keith's (step)dad who we lost to Pancreatic Cancer 13 days before our wedding. Ken was such a great guy, who we all love and miss so very much. I know Ken is watching over Sawyer, as is the rest of our family members we have lost. Sawyer has a little red strawberry mark on the back of his neck...and I have said since day one that it's kiss marks from Keith's dad(s), and our Grandparents given to him just before he joined us here on October 17th. They were able to love on him from Heaven before we were allowed to love him in person!
Raising Sawyer to love God is very important to us...God is the reason we have this little blessing! We were so excited to share this day with our families and our church family as well. Sawyer's Godparents are Uncle Paul and one of my best friends Shawn. Sawyer's Grandparents bought his special Baptismal outfit and blanket....thought just before we went up for the ceremony Sawyer had a MAJOR BLOW OUT...and it went all the way through the back of his Baptismal Suit!!! We couldn't believe it (well actually we could because Sawyer has had one of those every time we sit down at church) but all we did was laugh and then wrap him up in the blanket. Thank goodness we had the blanket!!
After the Baptism we came back to our house and celebrated with our family and dear friends! We are so thankful to have these people in our lives to share these special moments with! Sawyer wasn't much of a party animal because he took a nap through almost the entire party! But the rest of us had a great time!
