Isn't it funny how people change??!! Keith and I have an awesome second job and work for FLW Outdoors putting on fishing tournaments. We travel all over Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin etc. putting them on. We had always said we would NEVER take a baby with us, and that the baby would stay with the grandma's so we could work and enjoy a weekend away....blah...blah.....blah!! I laugh as I sit back and think about how silly we were for saying those things...obviously it was before Sawyer!! Now that we have a baby we wouldn't think twice about keeping him home....he is going with us!!! With that being said we had our first tournament last weekend in Bloomington, Indiana on beautiful Lake Monroe. This would also be Sawyer's first trip...anywhere. I wish I would have taken a picture of ALL THE STUFF we took (maybe next time) but I will list a few....his swing, pack and play, bumbo seat & tray, a bag full of diapers, wipes & bibs, a bag with 8 outfits, his diaper bag, a bag with food, a cooler for milk, a bag for toys (and these items are all for Sawyer) then we each had a bag, we brought Grandma so she had her bags...and maybe some more. Thank goodness we drive the weigh in trailer b/c that's where most everything went!
Friday night is registration for the fisherman so Keith and I are super busy! We hold the registration at the local Wal-Mart so Grandma was able to go inside with Sawyer in the stroller and do a little shopping...ofcourse she bought a new toy and some clothes for the little guy. They also went for a walk around the parking lot and played in the truck.
Sawyer was such a good baby for traveling all weekend! He is always such a happy baby and just goes with the flow. Maybe for the next tournament we can downsize all of the items we took....we'll see!
Here are just a few pics from the weekend....
Sawyer was "driving" the big truck and trailer...and then he had to "taste" the steering wheel!
Traveling is hard work! Taking a nice nap with daddy...priceless!
How sweet is this?!
Well.....we did have some excitement too...it rained like crazy all day on Saturday and when everything was packed up and ready to haul out...the mud decided otherwise! Our truck and trailer were stuck! The truck was sliding to the side of the hill...the dangerous side...everytime Keith would step on the gas! The motor would rev and the tires wold slide and dig deeper into the muddy mess! These have always been the part of the trips that make me nervous...so needless to say I couldn't watch as all of the "excitement" was going on...I stood behind the tree with my ears plugged. It took about 30-45 minutes until the truck and trailer were out...thanks to the hard work of Keith and our other FLW employees and the trusty ol' tow rope and a pull from the suburban! Needless to say I was extremely relieved to be back on the road again!
Taking a break at a local gas station to stretch and play...and a diaper change too (for Sawyer that is...lol!!)
Here he is driving again....Hope he doesn't mind having to wait a few more years until he can "really" drive!
