Saturday Afternoon Fun

Sawyer and I get to spend every Saturday morning/afternoon playing until daddy gets home from work.  This is only part of the fun we had today...

Sawyer has been trying so hard to climb into his old bouncy seat...and that all changed today as you can tell! He was so proud of himself  hence the giant smile filled with belly giggles!

He has also been super busy with climbing on the hearth of the fireplace to 'read' his books or to pull on the leg traps we have hanging as decorations. We sure do get a work out taking him off of it!

Keith and I visit the Fulton County Fair every year..it's the BEST fair! We coukdn't wait to take Sawyer to his first one this year! The weather was so beautiful which means there was a TON of people there.  I was only able to take 1 picture due to my phone dying (I had charged it fully before we left but since we are out in no mans land it drained quickly!) Sawyer was laughing so hard while sitting on Keith's shoulders. Sawyer loved visiting the cattle barns, rabbits, chickens and ofcouse people watching! We didn't visit the pig barns due to the swine flu outbreak.  We had a great time and look forward to take Sawyer next year!

Wipes Anyone?

Sawyer is in love with the plastic wipes 'container'! He will stand at the table and r-e-a-c-h for it, then wobble to the other side until he reaches it and has it in his grasp.  As I was putting dinner on the table I looked over at him, only to see he was pulling wipe after wipe out of the container. Needless to say he was having a great time!

Wood County Fair

We took Sawyer to the Wood County Fair today. It was such a beautiful.day...and hot too! We hoped to see neice/cousin Maggie in a few of her events for her horse but missed her by a few minutes :(  Sawyer has really taken a liking to all of the animals...and if he is in his stroller he grabs the tray to move up closer and just laughs and smiles...its  priceless!  I only took a couple pictures today :(  The first picture is a pig sound asleep with his tongue hanging out...too funny! Then the following pictures are of the dairy cows and Sawyer REALLY loved sitting next to her and tugging her ear and grabbing the straw! But then the fun was over when Sawyer poked himself in the eye...  :(  But we had a great day!

Lunch Date

Once a week we meet Aunt Shawn and walk at Pearson Park and go to lunch.  Today was Sawyer's first time in the high chair....he did a great job too!  Very interested in watching the people in Wendy's!

Uh-Oh!

Sawyer has really started to move about the living room (and dining room and kitchen when daddy isn't home....daddy is afraid he will get hurt on the tile and wood floors).  During one of his explorations he managed to pull himself up to the little table we have between the chairs in the living room and then pull it on top of him!  He never shed a tear...just laid there and jibber jabbered!  I felt like an awful mommy though!  It's amazing how quick they can get into things!

Here he is taking a break from exploring into the dining room.

He loves to hold the phones and remotes...so I am trying to take a quick picture before his hand grabs it!

Uh-Oh....here is the table mess.....

Oooops!

It's Only Just Begun!

On June     Sawyer started to pull himself up for the 1st time....the funny part being he used his bouncy swing to pull up on and he would use the pole for balance and at time when he would bounce and jump he looked like a pole dancer.  I couldn't get  a picture of him standing completely up though.  :(

Little Feet

Sawyer fell asleep on the floor today, and I couldn't help but take a picture of his cute little foot!  I wish they could stay this small!

Crap....I am WAY behind!

So, I have learned that being a mommy makes for less time to get anything else done....BUT I wouldn't have it any other way!!  I have not written a post for over a month....I need to catch up!  My goal during nap times and pumping times for the next week or two is to catch up with all of my pictures.

Sippy Cup and Water

Sawyer was super sick this week (June 18ish)..he started getting a cold on Wednesday night and we had him to the dr. on Friday for a bad cough that had changed into croup by Friday afternoon  :(  I felt so bad for him...really I felt so helpless!  A poor little baby who has no idea how to blow his nose or clear his throat.  He would cough (or bark as we called it) so much that it would gag him and he would end up throwing up!  I can't tell you how many times he has gotten sick this weekend...as well as the countless nose wipes (that he despises) .
But he has started to master drinking from a sippy cup!

A Quick Mover

I am amazed at how fast Sawyer gets around!!  He is still rolling everywhere and has mastered how to sit up , turn his body to a certain position and then roll to where he needs to go...he cracks me up!  Not only does he roll everywhere he also LOVES to go to the places he knows he isn't supposed to.  We have put pillows and rolled up blankets in front of things (hearth, tables, magazine rack etc) so that he doesn't get hurt or grab things that he doesn't need (electrical cords etc).  Well, he has 2 places he loves to 'travel' to and that is the register on the floor because he loves how it feels as well as enjoys the air blowing in his face and the other place he loves is under the end table!  It's so stinking hilarious....he rolls over to it, pushes the pillow aside that we have in front of it and somehow gets himself situated under the table!  So, I had walked out of the living room to grab a load of laundry to fold and when I came back (a few very short seconds later!!) he had  rolled to the table, moved the pillow and made himself at home!  I did sit and enjoy watching him for a few minutes as he thought he had gotten away with something again!  Needless to say after this stunt I have moved all of the items that needed cords from the top and the table and we are now cord free under there!!  Man...do I love this little guy!!

Sawyer Pulls Himself Up To Stand!

Sawyer LOVES to climb all over us as we play on the floor.  Last week (Tuesday night) he was playing around with Daddy and then pulled himself up to stand!  It was so cute! I also loved daddy's expression....he looked at me (I was sitting on the couch pumping) and he says with a huge grin on his face "did you see that...he just pulled himself up to stand"!  I was so glad we were together to see Sawyer hit another milestone.

Sawyer had just crawled over daddy's stomach

Ta-Dah!!

A Walk In The Park

I made a goal for this summer to walk as often as I could at Pearson Park.  Sawyer and I met up with "Aunt Shawn" and had a very nice walk.  On our path we happened to see this deer...she was so sweet and stood and stared right back at us!  I hope to see many more days with her at the park this summer!

Maggie Graduates

We were excited to celebrate Maggie's graduation from Clay High School on June 3rd.  We all came back to our house for a family cookout and ofcourse some pictures too!

Uncle Keith, Aunt Lisa, Maggie and cousin Sawyer
This picture cracks me up!!  Sawyer grabbed Maggie's tassel and her reaction is priceless!

Here is Grandma Joyce with her 4 grandkids:

Barrel Biscuits

On our drive home from Jasper, Indiana from another FLW weekend we stopped at the Cracker Barrel for dinner.  Sawyer was his usual sweet, adorable self while there.  He had the waitress and a few other dinner guests wrapped around his finger!  Our waitress was so excited to give Sawyer his 1st "Barrel Biscuit"...which is one of their famous sourdough biscuits and jelly.  Because we have not given Sawyer any actual table food (other than what Gerber provides us in a jar) we simply let him have a taste of the jelly.  Grandma was the one holding him at the time, so she was the giver of the jelly.  He didn't seem to mind the jelly...made his usual funny face when he tries something new.

I found this cute idea on Pinterest...to take pictures and spell D-A-D.  This is what I came up with...and made daddy a mousepad for work and also put them in a picture frame.  I think it turned out cute....I hope daddy does too!

S-T-R-E-T-C-H!

What a little stinker!  We try so hard to keep Sawyer away from the hearth and fireplace so we rolled a comforter up and pushed against the stone...yesterday I watched as he rolled himself over to the blanket, pull himself onto it and s-t-r-e-t-c-h to get to the ceramic duck and wooden moose!  He would giggle then as he touched each one....he was trying to hard to wrap his little hands around the head so he could bring it to him.  Uh-oh.....I think we need to start moving all of the objects that are at "Sawyer level"!

Fishing Fun

We spent our Memorial Day weekend at home mainly because it was so hot (it actually set a new record for  how hot it was...96 degrees...broke a record from 1911!) But being at home was fun because we had a cookout with my mom & dad, Joyce, Paul, Marybeth and Dan (Maggie's boyfriend) and went fishing too!  Here are some pics of Sawyer's first time fishing at our ponds....we fished at ours and Paul's.  We were trying to catch the trout before they die due to the heat...we caught about 25 (still have 75 more to catch) and we also caught blue gill and crappie that we threw back.  Had a blast!  So did Sawyer....after a little while he was sound asleep in the stroller, so we pushed the stroller under the tree for some shade and there he laid with the breeze blowing sleeping so sweetly!  Bbut ofcourse I forgot to take a picture of that...ugh!)

Naked Boy

I think it's funny how babies love to be naked!! Sawyer is no exception!  He has started something new, now that he can sit up, he will NOT lay down for diaper changes on his changing table and instead he sits up and grabs for anything he can get his hands on!  It has become  very difficult to work with....so now we change him on the floor. As soon as the diaper is off....he reaches for his "jewels" and grabs and pinches and then he starts to roll all over.  He loves to be naked!

This picture melts my heart...look at the smile!

I love his little backside...

Oregon Fest

We took Sawyer to the Oregon Fest a couple weekends ago to see his first parade....I hope he loves parades as much as mommy does!  We were a little nervous how he would do with all of the sounds from the fire trucks and band so we didn't sit right at the curb but about 15ft from it.  He did really good at first, pretty excited to see what was going on, then he fell asleep!  He fell asleep before the band and fire trucks came by...needless to say we were very nervous as to what would happen when they did.  But, they both came and went (neither was too loud by the time they got to us) and Sawyer continued to sleep!
Must be nice!

When we first got there he was so excited to see what was going on.

Ready and waiting....

Too much fun makes a baby tired!
